Fedor Vasilyev painted his famous painting in 1871, which is now in the Tretyakov Gallery. It depicts a rural landscape, conveying life from peasant life. Two peasant women lead geese through an old village bridge that connects the banks through a small boiling river.

On the banks of the river grow low bushes and huge trees, which are widely spread their branches. People are in a hurry to have time to get to the houses before the elements. In the distance you can see the roofs of rural houses, over which a flock of birds circling - harbingers of bad weather. They express concern: they fly anxiously through the sky. Ahead of the women is a boy, about ten years old, dressed in a red shirt, which is combined with the main background of the picture.

The dark sky is covered with terrible clouds, the trees bent from the wind. It seems that there is still not much and you will smell the freshness floating in the air before the rain. The artist conveyed the tension, stuck in nature, through a game of colors. The sky in the distance connects with the forest on the horizon. Dark blue tones in the distance turn into blue - green colors.

Everything around is filled with greatness, tension, the expectation of detente. The artist portrayed the sky very interestingly, which colors he does not use. Light pink gradually change and reach black. In the distance, birches are still lit by the sun, which is no longer visible in the sky.

Vasiliev’s paintings are very poetic and harmonious. He very much loved in his work to use the theme of rain, sky and beautiful Russian rivers. With unimaginable accuracy, he used the power of colors, they gradually shimmer from light tones to dark. How accurately he noticed everything from nature, and then laid it all out on paper so that people could continue to admire these phenomena. He very clearly conveys the mystery and beauty of nature.
